Future Perspectives for Biosafety in Brazil | Juniper Publishers

Future Perspectives for Biosafety in Brazil by Luiz Antonio Barreto de Castro | Juniper Publishers The Biosafety legislations were paramount for the development of Biotechnology in Brazil. I became familiarized with the theme as a consultant for the World Bank that demanded that Brazil had available guidelines in this area to celebrate a contract with Brazil in the area of Science and Technology. I elaborated the Biosafety Guidelines for the PADCT/ Biotechnology that became effective in 1986, very much using subsidies that were available in the Guidelines produced by the NIH after the Asilomar Conference during the seventies. We had no Biosafety Lawin Brazil until the Law 8974 [ 1 ] was enacted in January of 1995.The law called for the establishment of CTN Bio-Technical National Commission of Biosafety. As National Secretary for Research and Development at the Ministry of Science and Technology I established the first CTN Bioteam and was President of the Commission ...

Book Review 'Mencegah, Merawat Dan Memulihkan Penagih Dadah: Beberapa Pendekatan Dan Amalan Di Malaysia' (Malay Version) by Uqbah iqbal in Modern Applications of Bioequivalence & Bioavailability | Juniper Publishers Written by Mahmood Nazar Mohamed, efforts to treat and rehabilitate drug addicts should be continued by seeking more effective treatment procedures and methods. With reduced dependency on drugs, then intergratically, other ancillary problems have also been resolved such as criminal behavior, antisocial and other miscellaneous activities. In this regard, it is the responsibility of all parties involved, whether government agencies, NGOs or researchers to identify and implement more effective treatment and remedial methods. The Malaysian government has taken an active and decisive step in 2003 to combat drug abuse completely. Therefore, in 2003 it was gazetted as the Year of Fighting Drug Outpatient. All parties have been called upon to mobilize ...

Technology Development of Glycosyl Resins for Wood Composites | Juniper Publishers

Image
Technology Development of Glycosyl Resins for Wood Composites by Sheldon Q Shi in  Modern Applications of Bioequivalence & Bioavailability in Juniper Publishers The synthesis methods for renewable and eco-friendly glycosyl adhesives were reviewed. The low molecular weight carbohydrate-based adhesives and the carbohydrate modified urea-formaldehyde resin, melamine-formaldehyde resin, phenol-formaldehyde resin and polyurethane resin were discussed. The paper provides an understanding of glycosyl adhesive synthesis, and its utilization in modifying different formaldehyde based adhesives. Hydroxyl and furfural reactions have been the main synthesis methods for the glycosyl adhesive and the glycosyl modified formaldehyde-based adhesives. The current adhesive synthesis methods have been highly dependent on the specific conditions, while most of the synthesis processes are not suitable for scaling up. The future research should focus on identifying an effecti...
