A Review on: Prevalence of “OBESITY” in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Special Reference to Tabuk Region by Farhina Pasha in Modern Applications of Bioequivalence & Bioavailability | Juniper Publishers KSA is ranked 3 rd in the world obesity ranking according to Arab news. It is reported that approximately 72.4% of Saudis over the age of 40 suffer from obesity and 35.6% in Saudi society, of whom 44% are women and 26.4% of men, are obese. The rate of obesity among Saudi children is about 18% and is dangerously showing an increasing trend [ 1 ]. Therefore Obesity in Saudi Arabia is a growing health concern with health officials stating that it is one of the leading causes of preventable deaths in Saudi Arabia. As per Forbes, Saudi Arabia ranks 29 th 2007 list of the fattest countries.
